Raytown and Lee’s Summit (and pretty much everyone else) have cancelled the games scheduled for March 26 so U10 and U11 will not play today.

We will now have a watch party at 305 Spin at 3:00 to watch Sporting KC play the Chicago Fire. The game is on KSMO Channel 62.

These games will be rescheduled. There is NO practice on Tuesday, March 29. Practice on THursday, March 31 will be at Katy Park at 5:15 to 6:30 for both teams.

On a sunny, warm, but really windy day in Lee’s Summit, Sedalia Soccer U10 played LS Rush. We won the toss and took the wind the first half. The boys started off where they left off on Saturday and took advantage of the wind at their back. In the 4th minute, Riley played a ball through to Daniel which Daniel finished nicely slotting squarely into the back of the net. In the 13th minute, Trey made a nice run along the baseline and got a pass off across the  goal. Riley slid through the goalie and we were up 2 to 0. With 2 minutes to go in the half, Nik made a run from the back and put a pass through to Riley who pulled up and took a shot over the goalie putting us up 3 to 0 at the half.

LS Rush got the wind the 2nd half as it had not let up at all. They put us on our heels and in the 5th minute got a goal to pull us back 3 to 1. In the 9th minute, Rush scored again to make it 3 to 2. The boys picked things up and in the 11th minute, Max scored a great goal at the end of some good possession (Nice flip Max). The game was pretty wide open at this point and both teams were creating some good chances. In the 17th minute, Riley took a direct kick that went into the wall. He picked up the rebound and put it into the back of the net. The game would end with us up 5 to 2. Once again, Rush gave us a very tough 2nd half as they seem to always do. A great way to spend a beautiful Sunday.

U10 had a tough time getting their game started as a Spring storm rolled in and lightning was spotted. Finally starting in the pouring down rain on RSC 8A, the boys were game on with some nice passes down the field and Riley slotting the ball between the goalies legs to score in the 22nd second of the game. Jesus then scored to make it 2 to 0 and then Jesus scored again to make it 3 to 0. There were several other chances, but the hard rain was making it tough. We were subbing 4 players at a time every 5 minutes and the boys were standing with parents under umbrella’s between shifts. With 3 minutes to go in the half, lighting appeared again and the refs called a 15 minute halt. The LUFC team then got in their cars and left leaving us with no one to play. The game may be rescheduled. if not, it will be a forfeit.

The U11 team won their first match of the spring season at RSC with a 6-1 win over Casa Blanca. It was so nice to be playing outdoors and even though we had only one outdoor practice so far this spring, the boys didn’t waste any time stretching out their legs and getting their game going. Trenton Willis scored in the 4th minute after a nice pass from Hunter. Hunter followed up with a goal in the 8th and another in the 24th to put us up 3 to 1 at half.

In the 2nd half, the boys kept the pressure on and Alex finished a beautiful run beating the goalie near post in the 11th. Hunter completed his first hat trick of the season with a goal in the 23rd followed by a goal from Trenton in the 24th. There were many more chances and the boys finished strong. What a great team effort and everyone played their part.
