Alex and Hunter were each nominated by their schools for Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year. Alex at Skyline and Hunter at Washington. Then last night, they attended the BGC Youth of the Year finals at the Fox Theater. Each of the finalists had to submit letters of recommendation, and make a presentation on why they should be selected as the winner.

Our brave and talented lads gave tremendous presentations and we are pleased to announce that:

Congratulations to both Alex and Hunter and their families. We are all very proud of you.

We will start practices on Tuesday, February 2^nd. U9 players will practice from 5:15 to 6:15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. U10 players will practice from 6:30 to 7:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  We will practice indoors at 305 Spin. We currently have 19 players total. We will not have practices on February 23 and 25^th as we will be in Colorado.

The KC Metro League calendar is set as follows:
January 16 – Team Signups -both teams are signed up and registration fees paid
February 19 – Final brackets, schedule request deadline
March 3 – Final Schedule Posted
March 13/14 – first weekend of play – NOTE: I have to be in Wisconsin that weekend, so we will not play that weekend
March 20/21 – will be our first weekend of play
April 4- No Play Easter
April 30-May 2 – KC Cup – we are due…..
May 22/23 – Last Weekend of Scheduled Play

We will have games again on either Saturday and/or Sunday’s. We will have 8 league games – 4 at Raytown.

March 27 – KC Wizards opening home game against DC United
June 11 to July 11 – 2010 WORLD CUP
June 12 – USA VS ENGLAND!!
