I am excited to announce that we were accepted into the KC Cup Tournament. The Brackets have been announced and we are in a good group. I am also glad to see that Jefferson City Lightning that we lost to in Penalty Kicks in the fall tournament is in the other group. Destiny?

They will announce the Tournament schedule on Friday, April 10th.

Looks like we will have a back to back doubleheader on May 2nd at Raytown Soccer Complex. Our game has been rescheduled for 12:00 noon. The second game is at 1:15 vs the Dragons whom we played the first game. Both games are on 7A and we are home both games.

We had a great watch party on Saturday. I think the kids had a great time between watching the games and playing soccer. The USA had a tough battle on their hands in El Salvador having to come from behind with a 2-0 deficit. While the win would have been nice, coming out of El Salvador with 1 point for the draw is going to be crucial in trying to win their group.

Mexico also won 2-0 over Costa Rica and Honduras and TNT tied. USA plays TnT on Wednesday and that will be our next watch party – Wed – April 1, game starts at 6:30.

The Wizards were in COLD Denver for their game against the Rapids and were unfortunate not to come away with the victory. They had 4 good opportunities but the Man of the Match Rapids goalie, made some great saves.

Our next Wizards home game is next Sunday, April 5 – we need to know if you ae planning to go by practice on Tuesday. We play at Tiffany Hills Sunday am and the Wizards game is at 2:00 that afternoon

Game 2 scheduled for March 28 has been cancelled in anticipation of the snow heading to KC.

the game will be rescheduled at a later date.

The USA v El Salvador / Wizards watch party will still be held Saturday at 7:30 at 305 Spin

Soccer practice will resume as normal on tuesday at 6:30 at 305.

Winter storm watch in effect from Saturday morning through late Saturday night,
The NWS in pleasant hill has issued a winter storm watch, which is in effect from Saturday morning through late Saturday night.

As a very powerful upper level disturbance approaches the watch area late Friday night, moisture will begin to surge north and overspread an unseasonably cold airmass. Precipitation will likely begin as rain before midnight Friday, however will quickly change over to a mix of rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet after midnight. Precipitation will likely become all heavy snow by early Saturday morning, with snowfall rates possibly reaching 2 inches per hour.

Total snowfall accumulations may vary anywhere from 4 to 8 inches across the watch area before the snow comes to an end Saturday afternoon. Localized amounts in excess of 8 inches will also be possible in the watch area. This heavy snow will likely reduce visibilities well below one mile and create very hazardous driving conditions Saturday morning.

The lads played a really good first half, taking it to the other team, playing the ball wide to our wings and getting plenty of crosses into the box for a lot of good opportunities. The score was 0-5 at the end of the first half.

The second half saw us take it do them once more and “goal greed” started to creep in so our play wasn’t as good teamwise, but everyone was having a good time.

Dylan Hayden started in goal and Riley Moore and Hayden Martin split the 2nd half.

Several of the players and family went to the Wizards home opener that evening and watched a tough loss to Toronto FC 2 to 3.
